Increasing value for its customers has been at the heart of what Dahua has done over the last few years. More recently, the company unveiled its Think# 2.0 strategy, which is driving its development of AIoT solutions in an ever-expanding world of intelligent, digital networks. As a strategic initiative for 2023, the company utilizes its ‘Five Full’ capabilities, AIoT, IoT sensing, integrated connections and other technological competencies to accelerate the digital transformation of cities and enterprises. By doing so, Dahua further bolsters its shared ecosystem with its partners, jointly promoting the development of the digital economy and exploring opportunities in the global market together. But this commercial success is not achieved in a vacuum – Dahua continues to embrace the twin goals of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, to contribute to the wellbeing of the environment and society.

The Think# 2.0 strategy embraces the development of digitization and innovation in cities. This includes enhanced city management and operations, greater public safety and environmental monitoring. Dahua’s Intelligent Traffic Solutions improve the safety and efficiency of road systems, monitoring and improving traffic flows, providing real-time information to drivers, and detecting traffic violations. Traffic solutions include energy-efficient products to reduce carbon emissions, and image fusion technology to reduce light pollution in monitored areas. Other solutions are used to enhance the safety and efficiency of public transportation systems, such as DSM cameras and AI-based passenger flow counting for nearly 6,400 minibuses and electric buses in Istanbul. In terms of city center events and activities, Dahua AI-enabled cameras are used to ensure the safety and security of participants and spectators, such as at the two-month long Carnaval del Pais in Argentina, and to help the flow of emergency services in Jesus Maria, also in Argentina.

Through the integration of AI and IoT sensing technology, Dahua cameras are monitoring the discharge of more than 800 potentially polluting companies in a Chinese province and illegal fishing activities on the Tuo River in Fushun County, which can impact on the biodiversity of the river. The cameras continuously inspect preset locations on a 30-minute cycle – around 30 seconds for each location – and use thermal imaging technology at night, so that intelligent monitoring can continue in the dark.
